The development is located at the southern end of the village where Stratford Road meets Buckle Street, an ancient Roman Road. The current village now comprises of two local pubs, the Gate Inn and the 13th century Thatched Tavern, the village hall, nursery, primary school, two churches, a convenience store, post office, fish and chip shop, Chinese takeaway, garage, pottery shop and recreation park.
